An online style guide steers shoppers towards the latest trends, and, as with books, it will suggest
items when you add a product to your cart - a feature that is just as
effective when it comes to fashion. Amazon's move towards premium designer labels follows the appointment this month of Julie Gilhart, the former fashion director at Barney's New York, as a consultant. According to WWD, her role involves guiding Amazon's fashion point of view and its assortment of designer brands. Maria Renz, vice president of shoes and jewelry at Amazon, said at the time: 'Her ability to identify fashion trends, support emerging designers and work with established brands will help us provide excitement and new talent for Amazon’s growing fashion businesses.' The Amazon C lothing Store joins Endless.com and flash sale site Myhabit in the group's fashion ventures. |
