Crime Report: Man Struggles with Walmart Employees, Arrested on Theft Charge
Canton Township Police were dispatched to Walmart , 45555 Michigan Ave., for a report of an uncooperative man accused of stealing merchandise, according to a police report. When police arrived, police saw the man seated in the storeвs loss prevention office, out of breath, sweating and wearing a ripped T-shirt, according to the report. One of the storeвs loss prevention officers was quivering and appeared shaken, the report said, and the storeвs assistant manager also was sweating profusely. One loss prevention officer told police he was in his office watching the closed-circuit television in the hardware area when he saw the man acting suspiciously, looking around nervously, the report said. He told police he saw the man rip open a set of Stanley-brand screwdrivers from their package and began to pry open a secured box, which is used to display valuable merchandise, the report said. The employee told police he saw the man break open the box and take a package of Contour-brand diabetic testing strips, removing them from the package and placing them in his pocket, the report said. |
