Azzaro announces Alber Elbaz's right-hand woman is new creative director
Beginning her fashion education at Paris's École Duperré, Branco moved on to the Atelier Chardon Savard fashion school, before she cut her design teeth working at Hermès and then Maison Martin Margiela. Moving to Lanvin with Alber Elbaz, the pair have been working alongside each other for the past 10 years. Starting at Azzaro yesterday, 39-year-old Branco will be filling the shoes of Vanessa Seward, who took over the brand's direction after the death of its founder, Loris Azzaro, in 2004 - and they're quite some shoes to fill. Leaving the brand in March this year, Seward guided the label from near obscurity into the hearts of the A-list with her signature show-stopping gowns, regularly dressing Hollywood bombshells Eva Mendes, Cameron Diaz and Natalie Portman, while still appealing to young and upcoming starlets like Chloe Moretz, Kristen Stewart and Emma Stone. |
